When you think Nike, your mind can take you in so many different directions, but it all comes back to the swoosh logo. Nike is the creator of some the world's most influential shoe lines: Air Max, Air Force, and Air Huarache just to name a few. Nike evolves as styles shift, but their mission remains the same; to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world - and if you have a body, you are an athlete!
Whether you're on the courts or in the gym, Nike Sportswear has it all. There's a seemingly endless selection of hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, joggers, tees, jackets, windbreakers, caps and more to choose from. Nike offers a wide range of products for every sport, from basketball to running, and everyday casual style. You'll find what you need to dominate your game with Nike.
Running styles are Nike's bread and butter. From the original Air Max 1 to forward-thinking lines like the Nike Air Presto, Nike Flyknit, Nike Roshe, and everything in between, Nike has so many running shoe styles for both men and women to choose from.
Shoes with ankle support give you stability as you run, walk, jump and move. A lot of Nike shoes are designed with these movements in mind, so you know you’re getting ankle support you can rely on. This is especially true of Nike running and basketball shoes.
Control the court with an arsenal of silhouettes from Nike Basketball. Elevate your game from average to superstar with signature styles from some of the NBA's elite players like LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant.
Kids today are serious about their kicks and style, and Nike is leading the way to provide kids with great gear from a wide range of sports and fashion.
Nike shoes run a little small compared to other brands of athletic shoes, but this doesn’t mean you should go for a big size upgrade. The difference is minimal and the size you wear in other brands probably won’t be too big or small in Nikes.
It’s important to note that athletic shoes should fit true to size. Your shoes support you and protect you from injury, and for that, they should be snug against your heel. Shoes that support a natural walking or running motion are best, and that can only be accomplished with well-fitted shoes.
How much Nikes cost depends entirely on the type of shoe. A pair of men’s or women’s Nike shoes can cost anywhere from around $60 to over $200. Typically, though, the range falls around $90 to $110. Again, this is dependent on the shoe.
Nike has made some shoes over the years with aims of lowering its price point. Nike Roshes are an example of this, as are Kevin Durant signature shoes. But other shoes, especially rare or vintage shoes, can sell for thousands of dollars on the secondary market.
Nike hasn’t been around as long as some other major manufacturers. It was founded in January 1964 under the name Blue Ribbon Sports. Back then founder Phil Knight set the company up as a distributor for a Japanese shoe company. It wasn’t until 1971 that it became Nike.
That was when Nike first planned to release its own footwear, unveiling the iconic swoosh logo for the first time. By 1976 Nike was already running national ad campaigns, and by 1980 it owned half the U.S. market share for athletic shoes.
